Kung Fu Panda : Film Review

Kung-fu Panda 3 is that gem of an animation flick that -like it's previous installments, and so many incredible animation movies in recent times - explores grown up themes in the most engaging way possible. The theme of KF-3 is Chi - the positive energy life force and how to discover it - and as Po goes about trying how to find and channel Chi - he stumbles upon the secret ' Dont try to be like somebody else, just be your best You'..and when everybody in a society reaches their own personal maximum potential is when the magic of Chi happens. Along the way to discovering the magic of 'Chi' , Po also comes to terms with the multiple contradictions in himself 'Am I the son of a goose or am I the son of a Panda..Am I a teacher or am I a student..I am all of them'. There are so many many little gems hidden all over in this brilliant film : Master Shifu 's advice '- If you only keep doing what you do, you will never know what you can do', Po's discovery of his roots - familiar and yet a bit alien..Mr Ping (Po's adorable goose dad) 's comment to Po's newly discovered Panda dad 'Po having you in his life does not mean I get less, it just means he gets more..'..there are so many..it is a film that will require repeated viewing just so we can absorb all those gems. A movie that will get added to my movie library as soon as I can own it.
