The Ghats of Varanasi, both serene and bustling, both grandiose and humble, both divine and asinine, witness to death and to birth, a passage to heaven, from here on earth. Soaking into itself, tears, prayers, wails, laughter, and yet, retaining its composure, its calm. Drenched in history, and going about it’s business as usual for centuries, unconcerned with your identity- pauper or prince, politician or rock star, unwilling to impress, unable to pretend. Unassuming, majestic, Magnificent.
